BERKELEY, California — November 4, 2026. Preliminary returns from Berkeley’s three contested City Council districts provide an early picture of the November 3 vote, but the figures remain subject to further counting.

District 4

Igor A. Tregub led with 1,449 votes (59.6%), while Majdi “Gaith” Abuhamdieh had 979 (40.3%) in results updated at 12:59 a.m. Pacific.

District 7

Syrak Micael registered 298 votes (67.8%) and Aidan Hill 141 (32.1%). Because the number of counted ballots is comparatively small, residents should follow subsequent county updates instead of interpreting early figures as a turnout estimate for the full district.

District 8

Mark Humbert led with 1,702 votes (51.9%), followed by Michael Wallman with 1,087 (33.2%) and Mari Mendonca with 391 (11.9%). The figures summarize the leading reported candidates in that snapshot.

Counting is not complete

The county continues its post-election canvass. Results may change as mail ballots and other valid ballots are processed. The people leading an unofficial tally are not automatically the certified winners.
